Need more dinner ideas? This Guacamole Burger Recipe will make an ordinary dinner into an extraordinary dinner.
Although this isn’t much of a recipe, it’s a great idea. Like my Avocado in an Egg, this recipe will spark an idea that you may start using daily. I personally like to chill my guacamole to contrast with the hot burger.
This idea is definitely college friendly. Buying grass fed ground meat is not expensive- usually $5-7 a pound, which can make 3-4 burgers. 3-4 meals in $7! That is better than any drive-thru or restaurant meal. Consider how much you pay for a burger at a restaurant nowadays, usually between $10-20 dollars. If you can’t find a local seller, look online at Topline Foods.
Personally, I like to buy grass fed beef when I can and freeze it. Sometimes I freeze it in burger patties, so all I need to do is take them out and grill them. Other times I will bake them as meatballs, freeze them, and when I’m ready I defrost and serve with tomato sauce.
If you are someone who thinks red meat is unhealthy because of saturated fat, you may want to consider some recent research. It has been found there is no correlation between saturated fat and heart disease.
To make the burger, just follow my Grass-Fed Burger recipe. Then top with a mashed avocado, chilled. You can add onions, garlic, bacon, or even a boiled egg to your guacamole.
